Dear Colleagues, dear friends,
The International Federation of Cancer Prevention and Colposcopy (IFCPC) brings together nearly 50 national societies present in all areas of the world, where the prevention, screening and therapeutic management of lesions induced by the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) are sometimes different.
These differences may be linked to diverse and sometimes unequal health systems, social security coverage, resources or cultures.
The burden of HPV-induced cancers remains significant, with nearly 700,000 cancers, including 500,000 cervical cancers, as well as cancers of the lower genital tract (vagina, vulva, anus) but also ENT especially in men.
It is therefore necessary to organize regularly a large meeting in order to exchange together the latest data from scientific research concerning lesions induced by HPV, whether it concerns:
- primary prevention: how to improve vaccination coverage, with which protocols and which new vaccines?
- secondary prevention: regarding screening (which new biological and virological techniques, role of molecular genetics), diagnostic and prognostic value of new biological markers,
- and also appreciate different therapeutic methods or approaches.
How can these screenings and monitoring programs be adapted to high-risk and/or immunocompromised populations, during pregnancy or after conservative treatments?
What role does the vaginal microbiota play? How can CIN2 or multifocal lesions be managed? When and how should anal lesions be screened?
These are all questions that we will try to answer together during the IFCPC Paris 2026 World Congress organized for the first time in France by the SFCPCV (French Society of Colposcopy and Cervico-Vaginal Pathology) in Paris from June 4 to 6, 2026 at the Palais de Congrès de Versailles where we hope to see many of you there to exchange, meet and enjoy a friendly, warm and also festive atmosphere.
